Compression shrinks JPG, PNG and WebP files so they load faster on a website, fit form upload limits and do not clog your inbox. You stay in control of the result: a quality slider from 40 to 95%, set to 80% by default.
By default the pixel dimensions stay the same. If you need a smaller image, untick the box and choose the long side: 3840, 2560, 1920 or 1280 px. Photos are compressed on your device and are not uploaded to a server.
If the compressed version is not smaller than the original, you get the original back.

PNG stores pixels losslessly, so the quality slider has little effect on it. Reduce the long side or convert the file to WebP or JPG instead.
